APIA Voters As Swing Voters

  • 2006 Virginia Senate:   Jim Webb vs George Allen race won by 7,231 votes.  There are 162,679 potential APIA voters.
  • 2004 Presidential Election:  APIAs make up 6.3% of the Nevada population.  In the 2004 presidential elections, nearly 22,000 votes decided which candidate would capture the state.  There are 82,527 APIA potential voters which the majority reside in Clark County/Las Vegas. 
  • 2004 Presidential Election: 37, 517 decided if the state would turn red or blue, yet there were are 439, 388 potential APIA voters.
  • 2004 Washington State Governor’s Race: APIAs Democratic Governor, Christine Gregoire, won by a mere 261 votes, which was determined by two recounts. The Voting Age Population of AAPIs is 257,000.
