Election Day is Here!

Dear Friend,

Election Day 2009 is upon us! We hope that if you have important local elections in your state, you find the time today to cast your ballots. The impact of local elections is often overlooked or underestimated, but as you can see below, not only are there gubernatorial, congressional, and mayoral races as well as other local offices such as attorney general, school boards, and city councils. There are also very meaningful ballot initiatives that decide everything from city and state budgets to civil rights issues. In addition, there are several Asian Americans running for elected office!

Please read on below, and don't forget to take the time to cast your vote today. Many states are required by law to provide time off for you to cast your vote. Please visit http://www.workplacefairness.org/votingrights?agree=yes to see the specific details for your state.
