WASHINGTON, DC-- Asian American Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) participated Tuesday in an election that will go down in history with high turnout rates-- especially among minorities, new voters, and young voters. APIAVote partners and coalitions in 14 states turned out thousands of voters yesterday in the efforts to increase civic participation in the fastest growing minority community in the nation.

It has been quite a packed summer for APIAVote, and the rest of the summer is no different! Over the past few weeks, we've worked with local and national partners to strengthen voter mobilization efforts in 12 states, hired new field and communications staff, and finished our community organizer toolkit. This month, we will have a presence at both the DNC & RNC Conventions to celebrate AAPI political leadership! Read below for APIAVote headlines:
National Day of Action is Last Big Boost to Register Almost 7 million Eligible AAPI Voters in 14 States! There are 34 days left until the election! And only 5 days left for many states (CO, FL, HI, MI, OH, TX, PA, and VA to name a few) until the deadline to register to vote.
We encourage you to REGISTER TO VOTE if you have not already. On Saturday, October 4, 2008 - APIAVote, along with dozens of National and Local organizations are participating in a National Day of Action to register voters.
