Volunteers are needed to assist AAPI voters especially those with specific language needs. APIA Vote and Advancing Justice-AAJC will be hosting the hotline this Election Day and we are looking for bilingual volunteers in Cantonese and Mandarin, Korean, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Hindi/Urdu, and Bengali. We are also taking volunteers for the English line for any AAPI voter to call for assistance. If you are interested in volunteering, please use the specific link to sign up for a 4 hour shift on any day from Monday October 19 to Wednesday, November 4. Please share this with your network and help us recruit volunteers.
Volunteers will provide in-language assistance to voters with a team of voting experts. APIAVote's mailer is starting to land in over 700,000 households and we are beginning to get a number of calls. Calls range from looking up local early voting locations, to explaining how the mail-in ballot works. Your role is also important to detect voter suppression or disinformation that may be out there. NO knowledge or experience in elections or voting is required. We will provide all the required training.
